Before the operating room was changed to a clean operating room, the dressing for operation and the clothes worn by doctors and nurses were all cotton cloth. Cotton fabrics are divided into plain cloth and twill cloth. Hand washing clothes are worn as underwear, which are generally made of plain cloth (21s-18s yarn) or fine twill cloth (30s-32s yarn),

The advantages are soft and comfortable to wear; surgical clothes and dressings are mostly made of thick twill (roving support 21s-19s) cloth, with the advantages of firmness and resistance to repeated high-pressure washing. In recent years, the operating rooms of hospitals above prefecture level have been changed to purification operating rooms. The fabrics of the surgical clothing and dressing made are more strict. They should not only be strong and durable, but also should not shed hair in the use of fabrics, so as to avoid blocking the air outlet of purification operating room. Therefore, the traditional cotton fabric can not meet the requirements of operation. At present, many operating rooms have adopted high-strength cotton fabric, which not only has the characteristics of high-pressure resistance of cotton cloth, but also has the strength of chemical fiber cloth. Compared with all cotton cloth, it can not shed wool, and has a longer service cycle than all cotton cloth, which meets the requirements of cleaning operating room for clothing and dressing fabrics.
