From the 20th century to the present, the change of swimsuit styles is not only about the pursuit of beauty, but also directly affects swimming speed. Especially as the development and design of the competition swimsuit, its main purpose is to improve the swimming speed. To this end, the greatest effort is to reduce resistance during swimming. Different from the ground, the water resistance is large, and the special environment makes the swimsuit must have three most basic functions: anti-exposure, comfort and anti-friction.

Many people find that the swimsuits worn by the players seem to be self-cultivating, which is actually an attempt to solve the style resistance. Swimsuits are at least two sizes too small to keep the curves of the body smooth, allowing the water to pass through the body more quickly. Through the three-dimensional tailoring style, the swimsuit can be more closely fitted with the chest and buttocks of the human body, which can not only ensure the freedom of movement of each joint part, but also reduce the resistance in the water.

Swimsuits are mostly made of textiles that do not sag or swell in contact with water. The most common swimwear fabrics are: DuPont Lycra, Nylon and Polyester. The first two fabrics are mostly used in one-piece swimsuits because of their good elasticity and softness. Polyester is generally suitable for split swimsuits due to its less elastic properties. Better swimwear, the content of spandex in the fabric will reach about 18%.

DuPont Lycra: It is a man-made elastic fiber with excellent elasticity and stretch. It is suitable for blending with various fibers. DuPont Lycra, which contains anti-chlorine ingredients, will make the swimwear have a longer life than ordinary swimsuits. Lycra enhances the elasticity of fabrics and it can be used in combination with a variety of different fibers, natural or man-made, without changing the look and feel of the fabric. For example, wool + Lycra fabric not only has good elasticity, but also has better shape, shape retention, drape and wearability after washing; cotton + Lycra not only has the advantages of comfort and breathability of cotton fiber, but also takes into account the advantages of cotton. It does not have the characteristics of good elasticity and not easy to deform, which makes the fabric more close-fitting, fit, soft and comfortable. Lycra adds unique benefits to garments: close-fitting comfort, freedom of movement and long-term shape retention.

Nylon fabric: Although the texture is not as solid as Lycra fabric, its elasticity and softness are comparable to Lycra. Currently the most commonly used fabric for swimwear, suitable for mid-priced products. Nylon fabric is known for its excellent wear resistance. The advantages of nylon are: wear resistance, moisture absorption, and elasticity. It is easy to deform under small external force, so its fabric is easy to wrinkle during wearing. It has poor heat resistance and light resistance. The luster of nylon fabric is dim, the surface feels like a layer of wax is applied, and the color is not bright. The hand feels stiff, and the hand squeezes the fabric and releases it, there are creases, and it can slowly return to its original state. Warp and weft fastness.

Polyester fabric: Polyester has high strength and elastic recovery ability. It is firm and durable, wrinkle-resistant and non-iron-free. Polyester is the fabric with the best heat resistance among synthetic fiber fabrics. It has thermoplastic properties and good light resistance, except that it is worse than acrylic fiber. Its light fastness is better than that of natural fiber fabrics, and it has good resistance to various chemicals. Acids and alkalis are not very damaging to them, and they are not afraid of molds and insects.

How to choose swimsuit fabric?

① The more expensive the swimsuit, the better: Swimsuit, not the more elastic the better, but the better the resilience, that is, it can still return to its original state after repeated stretching. When trying on, the principle of fit and comfort is the principle. If the pocket is too large, it will increase the burden and resistance, and if it is too small, it will cause poor blood flow. The caveat here is that the more expensive the swimsuit, the better.

② Elastic stitches that can "exercise": swimsuit fabrics are mostly soft, elastic, densely textured, delicately cut and sewed with elastic threads, so that the stitches will not break due to movement.

③ Positioning line that will "explode": Because of the elastic characteristics of the fabric, in the case of swimsuits, in order to ensure that the fabric is not in place during sewing, it is necessary to use a flat machine to position a line without elastic, and then use elastic thread to sew Ready-to-wear, this positioning line will be removed after the ready-to-wear is finished, but it may be due to incomplete removal, and you will hear the sound of the line popping when you try it on for the first time. Affect the quality of the swimsuit itself.

④ How to maintain: Due to the particularity of the swimsuit fabric, when wearing a swimsuit, you should avoid sitting on rough objects, and avoid sun oil and sunscreen dew on the swimsuit. After use, rinse with clean water, otherwise, the color will be darkened due to fiber damage, and the elasticity will be lost. Do not wring, but roll in a dry towel to absorb excess water.
