Advantages and disadvantages of compact cotton yarn

1. The principle of compact spinning

Compact spinning is a new type of spinning technology that is spun on an improved new ring spinning frame. The main spinning mechanism is as follows: a fiber condensation area is added in front of the pulling device of the ring spinning frame, which basically eliminates the spinning and twisting triangle area between the front roller and the twisting point. After the fiber sliver is output from the front port of the front roller, it first passes through the special-shaped suction pipe to cover the mesh apron, and the whisker moves on the mesh apron. Rotate and gradually turn from a flat ribbon to a cylinder, and the ends of the fibers are twisted into the yarn, so the yarn is very compact, the appearance of the yarn is smooth, and the hairiness is less. Compact yarns have higher tenacity and less hairiness. The phenomenon of bristle is the most difficult to produce in the knitting process.

The purpose of compact spinning is to make the fibers as parallel and close as possible before twisting the yarn, which is an important criterion for high-quality compact spinning. Keeping the fibers as parallel and consistent as possible before twisting is a prerequisite for its advantages.

Second, the advantages and disadvantages of compact spinning

(1) Advantages:

  1. Because the single fibers in the sliver are fully straightened, parallel to each other, and closely arranged before twisting, the diameter of the sliver at the nip of the twisting roller (also called the anti-twist roller, because it has the effect of preventing the transmission of twist), the diameter of the sliver It becomes very small, so the "twisting triangle area" is basically eliminated. Since the single fiber is fully straight and parallel before twisting, there is no hairiness protruding from the main body of the sliver, so the yarn hairiness is very small, especially the hairiness above 3 mm is extremely high. few.

  2. In the spun yarn, since each single fiber is twisted in a straight and parallel state, when the single yarn is subjected to tension, the force of each single fiber is basically the same, so the compact spinning strength is higher than that of the traditional single yarn. Moreover, because the single fibers in the compact yarn are closely arranged, the cohesion force is large, which also helps to improve the strength of the yarn.

3. In the compact spinning process, the sliver is aggregated after the drafting specified by the process is completed, so the index of unevenness is not greatly improved, but it has a finishing effect on the sliver in its gathering area, and in the When twisting at the nip of the twisting roller, the transfer of the inner and outer layers of the fiber is not as strong as that of the traditional process, so the evenness of the compact yarn is uneven, and the thickness and detail indicators are better than those of the traditional yarn.

4. Due to the above characteristics of compact yarn, it provides very good conditions for the next process, and compact yarn has less hairiness, so it reduces the pressure of sizing, singeing and other processes, and greatly reduces the lead-in when using compact yarn for weft of shuttleless loom. The resistance of the weft improves the efficiency of the loom.

5. Because the fibers of the compact yarn are closely arranged and the diameter is smaller than that of the traditional yarn of the same number, the cloth woven with the same warp and weft density has good air permeability, and the cloth surface is flat and smooth. It is an ideal yarn for high-end textiles.

(2) Disadvantages:

  1. The cost of compact spinning equipment is high, which increases the equipment investment of spinning mills.

  2. In addition to the great improvement in the hairiness index, other indicators of the yarn such as evenness, thickness and detail have not improved much.
